- Smiling Boots the Immune System.The act of smiling actually helps the immune system to function more effectively. It is believed that when you smile, immune function improves because you are more relaxed, thanks to the release of certain neurotransmitters.
- Smiling is Contagious. The part of your brain that controls facial expressions and mimicking another person’s smile comes from an unconscious automatic response. That being said, when someone smiles at you, it’s more likely that you’ll smile back. Think of it as your brain returning the favor.
