Meet Dr. Brennan Alford
Making Smiles Inside & Out
We’re excited to welcome Dr. Alford to our practice!
Dr. Alford will work alongside Dr. Stoner and our team to craft beautiful smiles for all of our patients. He recently relocated from Ohio and brings a passion for orthodontics and patient-centered care. Dr. Alford is a board-certified orthodontist and also a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, a distinction achieved by fewer than half of practicing orthodontists nationwide.
Outside of the office, Dr. Alford and his wife Rachel enjoy playing sports and music together (Dr. Alford loves to play guitar), and spending time with their growing family, including 2 young boys and a dog.
If you see him around the office, please feel free to say hello and introduce yourself – he’s looking forward to meeting you!
Meet Dr. Alford
Dr. Brennan Alford is a board-certified orthodontist who is caring, compassionate, and dedicated to crafting beautiful and confident smiles. He is detail-oriented, with an artistic eye and a thorough understanding of the biology and science of orthodontics. He is fully board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, a distinction achieved by fewer than half of practicing orthodontists nationwide.
Dr. Alford graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Virginia University before attending dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University where he finished at the top of his class. Specializing in Orthodontics, Dr. Alford earned his Masters Degree and Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Iowa, one of the nation’s most respected residency programs, and was selected as Chief Resident of his class. He received national recognition for his talent with esthetic gingival recontouring, with his clinical photography presented at Pitts Orthodontics Lectures throughout the nation.
Outside of the office, Dr. Alford and his wife Rachel — whom he met while they played collegiate tennis together — enjoy raising their growing family, playing sports and music together (Dr. Alford loves to play guitar), and spending time with their 2 young boys and dog. He brings the same care, patience, and attention to detail to his patients that he values in his own family.
To highlight a few things:
- My wife, Rachel and I met playing tennis together on our college team
- We love playing pickleball now with our two sons, who both got pickleball paddles for christmas
- We are musical and love playing together as a family. My wife is a singer and I play piano and guitar. I was in a few bands in high school and college. But now I mostly play acoustic guitar. My favorite is a Martin D-28
- We have a dog named Hazel (middle name is Nut – my kids are big Nutella fans) who joined our family in December. She is a golden-doodle.
- I grew up in Dallas, Texas, however I lived in Taiwan for the the first 4 years of my life, moving there soon after I was born.
- After highschool I went to Southern Virginia University and then worked there for 1 year after graduating as a music recruiter and manager of the traveling a cappella group. I even sang in the group and did some beat boxing
- I love hiking and grew up going to Zion every year. My great-great grandpa was the first superintendant of Zion National Park and built many of the trails, including the famous switchbacks leading to Angel’s Landing. That National Park is my happy place.
- My mom is from Canada so I am also a Canadian citizen. I have 3 siblings. One of my two brothers lives in Toronto. My other brother lives in Dallas and my sister is a lawyer in Reno, NV. My parents are still in Dallas, but I am trying to talk them into buying a beach house on the coast of NC.
